Trump sues The New York Times for $ 79 billion for defamation and slander and calls newspaper a ‘Democratic spokesperson’

According to the American president, the lawsuit for defamation and slander is being filed in Florida. Trump accused the newspaper of spreading lies about him, his family, and his businesses. The decision was shared by Trump on a social network this Tuesday (16) and later confirmed by the Reuters news agency. Trump stated in the post that the newspaper has become a ‘spokesperson for the Democratic party’. The president also criticized the outlet for endorsing Kamala Harris, Trump’s opponent in the 2024 election. In the lawsuit, his lawyers argue that the publications have harmed Trump’s businesses and personal reputation.
