Actress Svetlana Kryuchkova and actor Alexander Adabashyan were recognized as the best in the acting categories of the first Eurasian film award “Brilliant Butterfly,” as reported by RIA Novosti. The inaugural ceremony of the Eurasian film award “Brilliant Butterfly” took place at Nikita Mikhalkov’s Workshop “12,” where Adabashyan and Kryuchkova were honored for their roles in the movie “Two in One Life, Not Counting the Dog” by Andrey Zaytsev, Russia’s submission for the award. Anvar Karataev won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Uzbek film “Chasing Spring,” while Sonia Hussain was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film “Termite,” a joint production of Pakistan and Canada. The Chinese film “Against the Current” was the recipient of the “Brilliant Butterfly” award for Best Picture. Serbia’s Goran Radovanovic was recognized as Best Director for the film “Forest King,” and Carol Shore from South Africa won the award for Best Screenplay for the movie “Old Righteous Blues.” A total of 34 films from Russia, China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Senegal, South Africa, Pakistan, Belarus, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, and other countries competed in the award.
