Cairo — The British Embassy in Cairo announced on Sunday the temporary closure of its main building as Egyptian authorities removed concrete security barriers from around the compound’s exterior perimeter. The barriers, which had been in place for decades, were taken down amidst tensions over recent protest actions aimed at Egyptian diplomatic facilities in Europe.
