Ukraine President Zelensky Refuses to Make Land Concessions Before Trump and Putin Meeting – China Fund Report

On August 9, Ukrainian President Zelensky made a strong statement refusing to give land to occupiers, following a suggestion by US President Trump that a peace agreement could include ‘exchanging’ land with Russia. Zelensky stated that his people ‘will not give land to occupiers.’ Zelensky took to social media in the early hours saying, ‘The answer to Ukraine’s territorial issues is already written in the Ukrainian constitution. No one will, and no one can deviate from it. Ukrainians will not give land to occupiers.’ Prior to this, Trump announced on Truth Social that the long-awaited meeting with Russian President Putin is scheduled for next week.
