JAKARTA – The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the introduction of new import certification requirements for shrimp and spices from Indonesia following the detection of radioactive contamination incidents. A statement posted on the FDA’s website on October 4 outlined the new measures, which are set to take effect on October 31, 2025. The FDA decision came after concerns were raised regarding the safety of imported seafood and spices from Indonesia, leading to increased scrutiny and regulations.
