US Sanctions Against Russian Project for Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary Completely Lifted

US sanctions against the construction project of the nuclear power plant ‘Paks-2’ in Hungary have been completely lifted, as announced by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban during a press conference streamed on his Youtube channel. Orban stated, ‘The administration of [former US President Joe] Biden imposed sanctions against the ‘Paks-2′ nuclear power plant construction project in Hungary. We were able to negotiate that these sanctions would not be renewed but fully lifted before the extension deadline.’ Orban also revealed that the US made an exception for Hungary, allowing the purchase of Russian energy supplies via the ‘Friendship’ and ‘TurkStream’ pipelines.
