The Pentagon announced on Friday (24) that it has sent the Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group, the first and most advanced in the U.S. Navy, to the Caribbean. It is not clear where the ships will be positioned exactly. This group includes the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, which has a nuclear reactor and is classified by the U.S. Navy as the largest in the world. It can accommodate over 75 military aircraft, including combat planes such as the F-18 Super Hornet jets and the E-2 Hawkeye, which can act as an early warning system.
