US-Taiwan Association Accuses Beijing Government of Distorting WWII Historical Documents

On Monday, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) stated in an email sent to Reuters, ‘China deliberately distorts World War II-era documents, including the Cairo Declaration, the Potsdam Proclamation, and the San Francisco Peace Treaty, in an effort to support its coercive actions towards Taiwan.’ The AIT also criticized Beijing for employing false legal narratives, ‘intending to isolate Taiwan from the international community and restrict other countries’ sovereign choices in interacting with Taiwan.’
