Valery Karpin made the decision to leave his position as head coach of Moscow’s Dynamo by his own will. The coach’s contract was initially for three seasons, which would have entitled him to a substantial severance package if he were fired. However, the 56-year-old coach chose not to exercise this option. Karpin’s arrival at Dynamo seemed like a questionable project from the start. The club, which had not won anything in a long time, chose to bet on a coach with no trophies in his career. Valery Georgievich himself humorously acknowledged these two facts.
