Right-back Vanderson, from Monaco, was once again cut from the Brazilian national team. Just like it happened in the last FIFA date, coach Carlo Ancelotti called up Vitinho, from Botafogo, to replace him. Vanderson got injured in this week’s Champions League game against Manchester City. The issue was a muscular one, in his thigh. Vitinho will be the third Brazilian football player on the list for the friendly matches against South Korea and Japan. Alongside him, Ancelotti brought Hugo Souza from Corinthians and Fabrício Bruno from Cruzeiro as representatives from the domestic market. Vitinho joins Wesley as the options for the right-back position in the national team, just as it was in the games against Chile and Bolivia in the World Cup qualifiers. Vitinho has previously worked with Paul Clement, one of Ancelotti’s assistants, and currently plays for Botafogo coached by Ancelotti’s son, Davide Ancelotti.
