Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the mobilization of the national militia to resist the USA on September 5. According to local channel VTV, units have been activated in over 5,000 communities. Maduro stated, ‘We are preparing to defend our sovereignty against any external threat, especially from the United States.’ The mobilization aims to rally 8 million people to join the fight against the perceived US interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs. Maduro’s declaration comes amidst ongoing tensions between the two nations.
