Video: Former police chief shot dead with rifle on the coast; car overturned

Former Chief of the Civil Police of São Paulo, Ruy Ferraz Fontes, 63, was murdered on Monday (15) in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo. Footage obtained by CNN shows armed criminals with rifles during the attack. The victim’s car was hit by a bus during the escape, overturned, and then the criminals carried out the execution. After the crime, the suspects fled. According to the police, he was shot and did not survive the injuries. The current Chief of Police, Artur Dian, confirmed the crime and traveled to the city. Ruy Ferraz Fontes currently held the position of Secretary of Administration for the City of Praia Grande. The Civil Police is investigating the circumstances of the murder.
