A 31-year-old woman was run over and dragged by a vehicle on Marginal Tietê, in the Vila Maria region, in the North zone of São Paulo, on Saturday morning. The victim was at a bar on Tenente Amaro Felícíssimo street with a friend. The friend stated she went outside to meet a guy while the victim stayed at the bar. The friend only found out what happened after the crime. A video obtained by CNN Brazil shows the victim walking on the street with a man, already identified as the suspect, around 6:20 AM. They leave the security camera angle, and 30 seconds later, the camera captures the serious hit-and-run. The driver not only runs over the woman with a Wokswagen Polo car but also drags her along the street. The suspect was identified as Douglas Alves da Silva, 26 years old, and is wanted. He is wanted for attempted femicide and, according to the SSP (Public Security Secretariat), he intended to run over and kill the victim. A second video, taken by a person driving on Marginal Tietê, shows the man dragging the woman for a long distance on the avenue. The report combined the images in the video below. Watch: After analyzing the circuits, the PM located a vehicle matching the one involved in the crime. Based on the information already gathered about the suspected man, police went to his address but did not locate him. She was rescued and taken to Hospital Municipal Vereador José Storopolli in serious condition with visible injuries on her face and both legs. The victim is intubated in stable condition and had to have both legs amputated below the knee, requiring a blood transfusion. The case was reported at the 73rd DP (Jaçanã) and is being investigated by the Civil Police. CNN Brazil is attempting to contact Douglas’s defense for a statement.
