Vlog Exploration of the Dryland Curling Event at the Special Olympics: National 284 athletes compete

No ice, no problem! This is the case with a unique competition at the Special Olympics – Dryland Curling. On September 18, the 12th National Disability Sports Games and the 9th Special Olympics officially kicked off the Dryland Curling event, bringing together 284 athletes from 26 participating teams at the Guangzhou Disabled Sports Center for a 5-day intense competition. The Dryland Curling competition at the Special Olympics covers three categories: wheelchair, hearing-impaired, and intellectual disabilities, using a ‘mixed competition system’ that combines group matches, elimination rounds, and additional matches. Each game consists of 6 ends, with the winner determined based on the distance of the stone to the center after each end, with the team earning more points after 6 ends declared the winner.
