Volcano Eruption in Ethiopia Disrupts Flights, IndiGo Abu Dhabi Plane Diverted to Ahmedabad

An IndiGo flight heading from Kannur in Kerala to Abu Dhabi had to be redirected to Ahmedabad due to ash cloud conditions resulting from a volcano eruption. Flight 6E 1433, which was scheduled for the Kannur–Abu Dhabi route, was forced to change its course mid-air as a safety precaution. The plane landed safely in Ahmedabad following standard procedures. Due to the persisting ash cloud conditions, the airline took the decision to cancel the flight. Passengers were provided with refreshments as per the company’s protocol. IndiGo is now working on arranging an alternative flight to return passengers to Kannur, their original departure point.
