Volkswagen Car Sales Growth in Russia Outpaced Global Market

Director of the analytical agency ‘AvtoStat’, Sergey Tselikov, revealed in his Telegram channel that Volkswagen car sales in Russia have grown by 10% this year compared to the previous year. However, global sales for the group only showed a 1% increase. During the first nine months of 2025, 11.3 thousand Volkswagen cars were sold in Russia, with nearly 60% of these cars being produced in China. The group’s global sales reached 6.6 million units. From January to September, 3897 new Volkswagen cars were sold in Russia, representing a 4% increase year-on-year. Skoda, another brand under the Volkswagen group, ranked second with 3559 units sold, a 43% increase.
