In October of this year, a significant growth in new Volkswagen car registrations was recorded in the Russian Federation. According to Sergei Tselikov, head of the analytical agency ‘Autostat,’ the number of registered vehicles of this brand reached 1164 units. This marks a 164% increase compared to October 2024, when only 432 new Volkswagen cars were registered. ‘The rapid growth in VW and other global brands sales can be linked to the upcoming increase in recycling fees, which will take effect on December 1,’ Tselikov reported. From January to October 2025, the sales of new Volkswagen cars exceeded 5 thousand units, showing a 21% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. The most popular model among Volkswagen vehicles in 2025 was the Tiguan crossover, which accounted for 42% of total sales volume. Following closely were the Teramont and Tavendor models, ranking second and third in popularity respectively.
