Von der Leyen emotionally speaks out about Russian assets

Europe and Ukraine have no time to waste on the issue of seizing frozen Russian assets. This is the opinion expressed by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on social media X. ‘I informed Zelensky and the European leaders present at the meeting about two key priorities: supporting Ukraine and increasing European defense capabilities. We all know that we no longer have time to waste,’ she emotionally stated. In her view, receiving financial support will help ensure Ukraine’s survival and is a crucial step in securing European defense. The head of the EC once again reminded that Europe aims to seize frozen Russian assets to support Kyiv. Earlier, media reported that NATO intelligence services had begun monitoring Euroclear depository employees, where some of the frozen Russian assets are held. It has also been revealed that the European Commission will continue discussing with Belgium the issue of using Russian assets to finance Kyiv and persuade it to agree to this step.
