Online voting for symbols on the new 500 ruble banknote dedicated to the North Caucasus region, which was supposed to end on October 14, has been canceled. The Central Bank made this decision due to a large number of fraudulent votes and promises to hold a new vote to exclude the possibility of dishonest actions. Before the end of the voting, Grozny and Elbrus were leading: Chechnya and Dagestan promised iPhone and apartment prizes to those voting for ‘Grozny City’ and the Derbent Fortress respectively, while some bloggers encouraged votes for Elbrus.
