Walmart Warns Trump Tariffs Increase Costs

The Walmart stated that US tariffs are raising its costs this year, squeezing profit margins even as more customers visit its stores for affordable products. The world’s largest retailer said on Thursday (21) that it worked to keep prices low as President Donald Trump’s tariffs on trading partners kicked in. Roughly a third of Walmart’s merchandise in the US is imported from countries like China, Mexico, Vietnam, and India. The costs of the products it sells are starting to rise, however, as Walmart restocks before the year-end shopping season.
