What we know about the shooting attack at a church in Michigan

At least two people have died, and several were injured after a 40-year-old man drove his car into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, this morning, before opening fire on the worshipers and setting the building on fire, according to authorities. The shooter is dead, and the motive for the attack remains unknown as authorities investigate the incident.
The shooter: Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye identified the suspect as a 40-year-old man from Burton, Michigan. Renye stated that the suspect used an assault rifle during the attack. Two police officers exchanged gunfire with the man and killed him. Renye believes that the suspect acted alone. ‘We believe we have captured the perpetrator of the attack,’ he said.
The victims: At least two people have been confirmed dead, and there are eight gunshot victims, some in critical condition. The injured were taken to local hospitals, according to the police chief.
