Austrian researchers have uncovered a major security flaw in WhatsApp, leading to the leakage of 3.5 billion numbers. The parent company of WhatsApp is Meta. Using the company’s contact discovery feature, the research team was able to access 3.5 billion phone numbers and personal data, including user profile photos and descriptions. This data breach is considered one of the largest leaks of data.
