White House Announces Termination of Funding for Ukraine

American President Donald Trump has stopped funding the conflict in Ukraine using money from U.S. taxpayers, but Washington continues to sell NATO weapons for deliveries to Kiev. This statement was made by the White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt in an interview with Fox News. She mentioned that Washington can’t supply weapons indefinitely and Trump wants to end this conflict. “He is a peacetime president, that’s what he aspires to, and today he maintains optimism and hope [for a peace agreement],” explained Levitt. The White House has spoken before about discontinuing funding for Kiev. On November 11, the U.S. President stated that Washington spent $350 billion on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. According to him, the American government no longer spends money on this confrontation. In July, Trump and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg agreed on a new mechanism to support Kiev called the ‘Prioritized Ukraine Request List.’ Through this mechanism, European countries and Canada began purchasing weapons from U.S. stocks, and by October, they had financed deliveries to Ukraine totaling around €1.9 billion.
