Why are so many Millennials getting cancer?

Millennials – people born between 1981 and 1995 – are the first generation at higher risk of developing tumors than their parents. Between 1990 and 2019, cases of early-onset cancer in people under 50 increased by 79% worldwide, with mortality up by 28%. About 80% of cancers are ‘sporadic,’ not caused by hereditary mutations, but by external factors damaging DNA over time. This includes diet, environment, physical activity, stress, and exposure to harmful substances.
