Why yellow cards are a dilemma against Mirassol

Mirassol and Palmeiras face off today at 8:30 pm (Brasília time) at José Maria de Campos Maia stadium in Mirassol for the 33rd round of Brasileirão. Besides aiming for a win to maintain their lead over Flamengo, Palmeiras enters the match with yellow cards on their radar.
The Palmeiras team has eight players with yellow card warnings: Weverton, Gustavo Gómez, Murilo, Piquerez, Andreas Pereira, Lucas Evangelista, Facundo Torres, and Vitor Castanheira (assistant coach).
Gustavo Gómez, Piquerez, and Facundo Torres will already be absent from Palmeiras against Santos next Saturday (15) due to the FIFA dates. If these players receive a yellow card against Mirassol, they would have a much lower chance of missing future games due to suspension.
On the other hand, Murilo and Andreas Pereira could cause more problems for coach Abel Ferreira. Palmeiras already faces seven absences against Santos at Vila Belmiro (Piquerez, Emi Martínez, Facundo Torres, Gustavo Gómez, Sosa, Flaco López, and Vitor Roque) due to the FIFA dates. If the defender and midfielder get booked today, they will join the players out due to international duty.
Midfielder Lucas Evangelista (right thigh surgery) and goalkeeper Weverton (fractured right hand), the other players on yellow card watch, are still recovering and are not fit to play.
A potential Palmeiras lineup against Mirassol includes: Carlos Miguel; Khellven, Gustavo Gómez, Bruno Fuchs, Piquerez; Aníbal Moreno, Andreas Pereira, Maurício (Allan), and Sosa (Felipe Anderson); Flaco López and Vitor Roque.
With the midweek round, Palmeiras opened up a three-point lead over Flamengo at the top of Brasileirão. The Verdão now has 68 points, while the Rubro-negro has 65 — with the São Paulo team holding two more wins in the competition, which is the first tiebreaker criteria.
While Palmeiras visits Mirassol, Flamengo hosts Santos at Maracanã, also on this Sunday.
