Will the new hybrid ‘Chinese’ Voyah Taishan be purchased in Russia?

Terminal A representatives expressed the opinion that in terms of technology, Voyah is unlikely to offer anything fundamentally new, as many modern hybrid crossovers from Chinese manufacturers already have impressive power and battery capacity. Experts find it difficult to predict the cost of Voyah Taishan for Russian consumers, as the model has not yet been presented even in the Chinese market. In China, pre-orders are being accepted without announcing the price. It is estimated that Taishan’s cost could be around 500,000 yuan. Taking into account disposal fees, customs duties, logistics expenses, and distributors’ and dealers’ profits, the final price in Russia could easily exceed 10 million rubles. Terminal A believes that the main drawback of Taishan is its potential price: if it truly exceeds 10 million rubles, the car will be subject to luxury tax, which will likely negatively impact sales volume. Due to the high cost, Taishan is likely to become a niche and prestigious model. It is unlikely to surpass Dream or Free in popularity. The actual market share of the novelty can only be assessed after the official price announcement. Voyah Taishan is a full-size crossover with dimensions: 5.2 meters in length, 2 meters in width, and 1.8 meters in height. The six-seat cabin (2+2+2 configuration) is equipped with a projection display with augmented reality, a built-in refrigerator, folding tables, a two-section panoramic roof, and a ceiling screen for entertainment. The hybrid powertrain of the Voyah Taishan model includes two electric motors and a petrol engine. The 65 kWh battery provides a range of up to 300 km in the WLTP cycle, and the total range is 1120 km (WLTP). Thanks to the 800-volt architecture and fast charging at 5 °C, recharging from 20% to 80% takes just 12 minutes. The rear axle turns by 8 degrees, providing a turning radius of only 5.4 meters, and the three-chamber pneumatic suspension adapts to road conditions, ensuring a smooth ride.
