President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is set to depart for Asia on Tuesday morning (10/21) to fulfill agendas throughout the week. The head of state has scheduled events in Indonesia, from the 23rd to the 24th, and in Malaysia, from the 24th to the 28th of October. According to a statement released by the presidential palace, the purpose of the trip is to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore new trade opportunities with the two Asian countries. Lula’s visit is also expected to enhance Brazil’s presence in the region.
