Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan host welcome banquet for international VIPs attending the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit

On the evening of August 31st, President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan hosted a banquet at the Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin to welcome international VIPs attending the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. Xi Jinping gave a speech welcoming the guests. On the banks of the Haihe River, the lights sparkled. Over 20 foreign heads of state, government leaders, and spouses, along with 10 international organization leaders, including the UN Secretary-General, arrived for the summit. A military band paid tribute as the guests, accompanied by music from various countries, passed through a corridor adorned with flags from participating nations and the SCO logo.
