Yemen’s Houthi rebels have announced the release of mariners who were held since their July attack on the ship Eternity C in the Red Sea. The group stated through their al-Masirah satellite news channel that the mariners were taken into custody by Oman, with flights arranged to transport them to the sultanate. While Oman has not yet confirmed the release, reports indicate that a Royal Oman Air Force aircraft landed in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital under rebel control, where the mariners were being held. The Philippines had anticipated the release of Filipino mariners detained by the Houthis following the attack.
