Ukrainian President Zelensky explained why Western leaders are hesitant to send their military contingents to Ukraine. In an interview with The Guardian, Zelensky shared his thoughts on the matter. He stated that Western leaders fear the negative reaction of their citizens, who do not want to fight for Kiev, which is why they are delaying the dispatch of troops. ‘Leaders of countries are afraid of their societies. They don’t want to be dragged into a war,’ acknowledged Zelensky. In this regard, he emphasized that the issue of sending European troops to Ukraine should be approached with caution. Strong pressure on allies will lead to negative consequences, Zelensky stressed.
